General Info +

What is HackSaigon Innovation Sprint?

+

HackSaigon Innovation Sprint is a 36-hour online hackathon hosted in collaboration with MLH and GenAI Fund. From November 6–8, 2026, more than 400 builders from 30+ countries will come together to design, build, and ship real projects in one intense weekend.

The event will be hosted virtually on Zoom and Discord, making it accessible to participants from anywhere in the world.

What is a hackathon?

+

A hackathon is a collaborative building event where teams create a working project in a short amount of time. It’s not just for coding — you can design, prototype, pitch, learn new tools, and meet other builders.

Hackathons are open to all skill levels, and HackSaigon especially welcomes newcomers.

How much does it cost?

+

Nothing. HackSaigon is completely free to attend.

This includes access to APIs, technical infrastructure, mentor support, workshops, swag, and other event resources.

I’ve never been to a hackathon before. Can I still join?

+

Absolutely. HackSaigon is beginner-friendly.

We’ll run beginner workshops, connect participants with dedicated mentors, and host team formation activities so nobody has to build alone. There will also be beginner-friendly prizes, so first-time hackers can compete on a level playing field.

How do I stay updated before the event?

+

Join our Discord, follow us on social media, and keep an eye on HackSaigon.org for announcements, speaker reveals, schedule updates, and important event information.

Tracks & Prizes +

What are hackathon tracks?

+

Tracks are optional themes you can build around. This year’s tracks include Computer Vision, EdTech, and Logistics.

Submitting to a track makes your project eligible for track-specific prizes, but it is not required. You can also compete for general prizes.

What can I win?

+

HackSaigon will award 250M+ VND in total prizes across general awards, track-specific awards, beginner prizes, sponsor prizes, and cloud credits.

Full prize details will be announced closer to the event.

Do I have to submit a project?

+

No. You’re welcome to attend for the workshops, networking, mentorship, and overall experience.

However, you must submit a project to be eligible for prizes.

What can I build?

+

You can build almost anything: web apps, mobile apps, hardware hacks, AI tools, games, browser extensions, developer tools, or projects using any stack or platform.

The main rule is that your project must be built during the 36-hour event. You may use existing tools, libraries, APIs, and frameworks, but the core project should be created during the hackathon.

Registration & Teams +

Who can participate?

+

HackSaigon is open to students, recent graduates, and early-career builders, including developers, designers, product thinkers, and anyone excited to build.

Participants must be 18 or older. International participants are welcome.

How do I register?

+

Sign up through our official registration page. Spots are filled on a rolling basis, so early registration is recommended.

How do teams work?

+

Teams can have up to 4 members.

You can form a team before the event or find teammates during the hackathon through our team formation activities and Discord team-finding channel. Solo participants are always welcome.

Can I attend from outside Vietnam?

+

Yes. HackSaigon Innovation Sprint is 100% virtual, so participants can join from anywhere in the world.

Logistics +

When and where is HackSaigon Innovation Sprint?

+

HackSaigon Innovation Sprint will take place from November 6–8, 2026.

The event will be hosted online through Zoom and Discord. Hacking officially kicks off Friday at 6:30 PM, and the hackathon wraps up Sunday afternoon.

What platforms will be used?

+

We’ll use Zoom for major events such as the opening ceremony, closing ceremony, and workshops.

Discord will be the central hub for announcements, team communication, mentoring, help channels, and community activities.

How and where do I submit my project?

+

All projects must be submitted through our official Devpost page.

Your final submission will need to include:

  • A brief project description
  • A link to your public code repository, such as GitHub
  • A short demo video showing what you built

How can I get help during the event?

+

If you run into technical issues, need help finding teammates, or have a general question, post in the #ask-organizers channel on Discord.

If you need coding or project support, you can reach out in the #mentor-help channel.

I still have questions. Who should I contact?

+

Email us at help@saigon.org or ask in our Discord server. We’re happy to help.
